Mark Webster will be hoping for an early 30th birthday present when he takes to the stage at the World Matchplay this weekend.

The Denbigh left-hander turns 30 next month and would love nothing more than to mark the landmark birthday by making a big impression at the Winter Gardens in Blackpool.

Webster, who is sponsored by Leyland Paints, is striving for the form which saw him lift the BDO World Championship in 2008 and qualify for the Premier League three years later. (more…)

Mark Webster will compete in the European Championship as the replacement for Gary Anderson, who has withdrawn through illness.

The Welsh left-hander will take on James Wade on Thursday night in the first round of the £200,000 tournament in Germany.

Webster replaces Anderson as he is the highest ranked non-qualified player on the PDC Order of Merit. (more…)
