Mark Webster progressed to the second round of the World Darts Championship with a straight sets victory against Mick McGowan on Friday afternoon.

The two-time semi-finalist battled through illness to win last-leg deciders in every set of his round one clash at London’s Alexandra Palace. (more…)

Mark Webster’s brilliant Grand Slam of Darts charge was halted by Raymond van Barneveld in a thrilling quarter-final tussle in Wolverhampton on Friday evening.

Webster, who had seen off world number two Gary Anderson in the previous round, was denied by four fabulous finishes of over 120 from the five-time World Champion.

Welsh star Webster, who reached the semi-finals of the World Grand Prix last month, hit ten 180s and averaged 97 in the match but van Barneveld’s superior finishing got the Dutchman over the line. (more…)

The Welshman nicknamed ‘Spider’ proved to be deadly on his doubles as clinical finishing earned him a 10-6 victory against the world number two.

The former Lakeside World Champion continued his recent revival to set up a last eight clash with Raymond van Barneveld.
