MARK WEBSTER will return to the Grand Slam of Darts in Wolverhampton next week after missing out in 2016.
The Welsh star is a three-time quarter-finalist at the prestigious tournament, most recently making the last eight two years ago.
He has been drawn in Group D alongside Daryl Gurney, Danny Noppert and Darren Webster, who he will meet in his opener on Saturday evening.
Webster recently appeared on TV in the World Grand Prix and World Series of Darts finals and will also be in action at the Players Championship Finals and World Championship as the season draws to a close.
“It didn’t go my way at the last couple of TV events but the Grand Slam is ideal because you are guaranteed three matches and that will help me settle in,” said the former BDO World Champion.
“I have generally done well in Wolverhampton and with the Players Championship and World Championship still to come I’m really happy to be in this tournament.
“Everyone wants to be competing on the big stage at this time of year and there are a few big names not there. It’s a massive tournament in its own right, though, and I won’t be looking any further than the next match.”
