WORLD CUP OF DARTS ever-present Mark Webster helped Wales reach the final for the second time as he teamed up with Gerwyn Price for a memorable weekend in Frankfurt.
The pair progressed all the way to the decider, where they were denied an incredible glory by Netherlands duo Michael van Gerwen and Raymond van Barneveld.
Wales were pushed all the way to a last-leg decider in their opening 5-4 pairs win against Finland but no other team managed to force them into a Doubles shoot-out.
Webster and Price each won their Singles games in victories over Ireland, Russia and Belgium.
Webster defeated Raymond van Barneveld in his Singles Match but losses for Price and in the Doubles saw Wales finish as silver medal winners.
“We’re thrilled to bits,” said Webster, who also earns a place in the Grand Slam of Darts in November as a result of this run to the final.
“We believed we could win the final and were disappointed not to but we would’ve taken runners-up at the start of the tournament.
“We’ve had a great time and really enjoyed it. I think that showed in our performances.”
