The Welsh star’s charge began on Friday when he booked his place at both the Grand Slam of Darts and the World Series of Darts finals before securing his Players Championship finals spot on Sunday.

“I’ve had worse weekends,” joked Webster, who recently reached the semi-finals of the World Grand Prix.

“To qualify for three TV events in one weekend is incredible and shows that the improvement in my form is continuing.

“I’m so pleased with how I played on Friday and I’ve done enough this season to reach the Players Championship finals too, which I’m very happy about.”

Webster defeated Jyhan Artut, Steve Douglas, Cristo Reyes and James Richardson to come through the Grand Slam qualifier on Friday.

He then dropped just four legs in victories against Arron Monk, Jason Wilson, Mike Zuydwijk and Jelle Klaasen to win a place in the World Series Finals.

Following the weekend’s final two Players Championship events of the year, Webster finished 29th on the Pro Tour Order of Merit, securing his place at the Players Championships finals in Minehead, where he will face James Wade in round one.
